I painted these two to be donated to very young cancer patients in New Orleans. It must be so scary for them, and heartbreaking for their parents. Painted with love and hope for healing and strength.

Angels 500 is a non-profit project that is gaining momentum. Our goal is to donate 500 paintings to 500 cancer patients (many are children) in New Orleans. This third one is named Carly, in memory and honor of my sister. I hope the recipient loves her, and gains strength from her!

This is my second angel painting for the Angels 500 project, to be donated to a cancer patient in New Orleans. As this is Martin Luther King Day, I used his image as a very loose reference for this piece. Although it's not intended to be a portrait of Dr. King, it's still pays tribute to a great leader who left us too soon. I'm offering this one with much love and hope for healing.

My friend Frank Giovingo started Angels500 in New Orleans recently. He paints original pieces and donates them to children and adults who were battling cancer. His dream evolved into an arts community project. He recruited me and a few others, and it really began to take shape, as we recruited more artists. He eventually wants to create a foundation, and serve others cities besides New Orleans. That is the power of love and the power of art!!!
