,Angels500 is a collaboration of artists who make and donate paintings of angels to cancer patients and others with serious illnesses. These angels are made with prayers for healing, strength, and hope. Contributing artists from all over the country include professional and amateur painters, as well as children.
The mission is to spread joy to the patients who receive the works (plus encourage people to make art). I will be hosting a painting party to guide beginning-intermediate painters to paint beautiful angels to be donated to those who need lifting up. After a couple of months, it became clear that we needed to get serious about organization, and put the wheels in motion to become a nonprofit organization. One of the first steps is to create a logo. Lucky for us, my day job is a graphic designer, so that task was created in-house. I created the logo below.

I've been busy with paintings for commission, gifts, and donations. I had started this a while ago, and had a free block of time this weekend to finish this cat study in grays and golds. It was a joy to paint, and I'm keeping it as a little reward to myself.
Oil on 8" x 10" deep cradle canvas This little lovely angel was painted for a friend's father, who is battling cancer. I hope she brings him strength and hope in his fight to regain good health.
Oil on Ampersand board, 5"x7" My friend (and muse) Sasha just received her US citizenship, and took the most amazing selfie to celebrate. She looked so radiant, with her beach waves, brilliant blue shades, and bright red lipstick, I had to paint her, using her selfie as reference. She graciously agreed. The US just gained a very talented dancer!
