The Eastern Puma (Puma Concolor Cougar) has been taken off the endangered list, for the worst possible reason: it is now extinct. The most likely culprit is the destruction of forests and the decline in whitetail deer. This makes me crazy with sadness and anger. For a smart species, we sure are having a hard time learning that we only have one earth. Seems like we are hellbent on destroying it (and each other, with recent events).
It prompted my new series called "The Responsibility of Man" featuring extinct and endangered animals. I'm holding off selling these until I have a body of work.
