I have a heavy heart when I read/see the news lately. There is so much brutality in the world; not new, but with real-time exposure on the web, we are witnessing the underbelly of our culture. There is no place for evil to hide anymore, which is a great thing. Still, as a "sensitive viewer" it's hard to take. I sign petitions, make donations when I can afford to, and paint what I feel.
Here are the first two of this series: Crying Game in Blue, and Crying Game in Red. Both are 10" x 8," oil on linen. They will be available at East Austin Studio Tour in November. Crying Game in Blue sold at the Due East show on opening night.
