I was gobsmacked by the new film The Jungle Book. It honored animals like very few films have, and I hope that it encourages the new generation to respect all creatures. A cautionary tale of the balance of nature and man's responsibility; the symbol of the "red flower" inspired this piece.
Here are several WIP pics (sketch on paper & blocking in on board) and the final piece. Oil, 11" x 14" on Ampersand board

This is stunning, Rhea. It is a knockout piece, full of all your characteristic passion and bravura technique. What a fabulous demonstration of your level of accomplishment in rendering both the human and animal form. So well done, Rhea!!
