Rhinoceros (and elephants) have a new defense against poaching: pink dye that makes humans very sick if ingested, yet doesn't harm the horned (or tusked) creatures. This gives me new hope for these magnificent, dinosaur-like animals.
Instead of focusing on details, I decided to paint this in bigger, bolder strokes. It seemed more appropriate for such a massive giant! This is the sixth painting in my series of endangered species.
